The Problem: A new neighborhood was built on top of a hill in Saugus. However, The retaining wall which is supporting pert of the hill and 4 houses has collapsed leaving the houses at the base of the hill in danger of being crushed
Here's a better view of the situation
You can actually see the right portion of the wall listing.
The solution: Move all 4 houses!
OOPS!! The surveyors miscalculated….they were off by a couple of inches when they were factoring in the distance between the lamp posts…a mad scramble to widen the street ensued. They removed the lamp posts and the snow banks…
The scramble continues
Snow job: Clearing a snow bank so a huge house can be moved
Framing a house
Fish-eye of the house
the hole car: A view of my car from under the house
Another house moved...
Look what's chasing me: I guess it's better than seeing a police car in the mirror...
Mobile home: Here's the last of four house which were being relocated. This event started to attract a small crowed as the house reached the peak of a hill.
High rise: A house is lifted off of it's foundation and moved 1/4 mile away from the collapsing retaining wall.
Wow, that is a really great photo. I wonder how much each of those stones in the retaining wall would weight. I'm sure that they are very sturdy though. It really makes that house look nice on that hill. http://www.rocksolidservicesllc.com/services
