This is the new 1776 foot WTC . Yesterday I eluded to an incident that I had at the memorial. Security is understandably very tight at the memorial. Several check points and X-ray screening stations are in place to catch any "wrong do-ers". Well...as my camera bag was going through the x-ray machine, the screener asked if I had a tripod in my bag. I didn't. Then I remembered that I had a baton in my bag!!!! I completely forgot about!!! I keep it in there because of the weird locations that I shoot in. (my friend and I were bothered on several occasions by people who were "too" interested in what we were doing) I had the baton as deterrent to these people who had more than a passing interest in what I was doing. I've had it in my bag for years, and there it was....loud and proud in the top pocket of my bag. Moments later I was surrounded by Port Authority Police and the NYPD. I had inadvertently brought a weapon to the one place on God's good Earth that you shouldn't...Ground Zero. They police eventually let me in but confiscated my baton. I gladly handed it over. Stupid....stupid me. - Thank you for all your comments on my Manhattan Bridge shot yesterday. I really appreciate it!!! I am rather proud of that particular shot! 11/5/2013
Frame Work: This is the east tower of the Manhattan Bridge take from Washington St. in the D.U.M.B.O. (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass) section of Brooklyn. Notice how the arch of the tower perfectly frames the Empire State Building. There's more shots of New York to come including a few from the World Trade Center Memorial (I had an "incident there" - which I'll tell you about tomorrow) 11/4/2013
For the Alphabet Challenge: I just got home a 1/2 hour ago from my trip to New York City. Here's my "Q" shot. Sorry, I won't be able to comment on anyone's work until tomorrow...I have to unpack and spend some time with the kids. I have a ton of shots to show you!!! See you tomorrow!
